↑ Hunt (2000), states that all 412 Filipino guerrillas received Bronze Stars, and that the failure to award Silver Stars to Pajota and Joson was "an ominous foretaste of the injustice and ingratitude shown to many Filipino soldiers". Hunt served more than three years as the leader of a guerrilla detachment in central Luzon.
